Founded in 1805, Champagne Vollereaux today owns nearly 40 hectares, covering 13 villages in the Coteaux Sud d’Epernay in the Marne Valley in Champagne, including Pierry, Premier Cru.As soon as you arrive at the champagne estate called Vollereaux Champagne, you will start with a one hour guided tour in the 200-year-old champagne cellar. During your visit, you will learn more about the history of this estate and the champagne making process.The visit will end with a tasting of 3 different champagnes.

You will visit Moët & Chandon, the most famous producer of Champagne, where you will learn about the Champagne making process and enjoy some of the 150 year-old cuvee “Brut Imperial”.You will spend some time in the vineyards, enjoying the breathtaking views of the UNESCO world’s heritage vines of Champagne and acquiring knowledge of the particularities of its “terroir”. You will then discover the village of Hautvillers, the birthplace of Champagne, and will get to visit the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried.Your next stop will be at a typical Champagne House in Mareuil-sur-Ay where you will get to train your nose to identify the different aromas and flavors that can be found in Champagne through an olfactory workshop. You will then apply what you learned in a Champagne quiz, trying to identify blindly 3 different Champagnes from boutique wineries all while eating some local snacks.By now you will have built up an appetite so it’s the perfect time lunch, where you will get to taste some regional specialties paired with wine and Champagne in a fun and cosy atmosphere. You will get introduced to local products such as baguette, ham from Reims, regional cheeses, pink biscuit and Ratafia.In the afternoon you will visit a family-run boutique winery in the charming hillsides of Champagne where you will get a peek behind the scenes. Following a visit to the traditional press, vat room and cellar of an authentic Champagne grower, you will enjoy several tastings of their best-seller “cuvees”.Following a day full of effervescent experiences and precious souvenirs, your guide will drop you off in front of the statue of Dom Perignon in Epernay at around 5.30 pm.
